PETA Strikes Back at Ninja Obama

Have you seen this video? I think its pretty funny. Its a video of our president doing an interview where there is a housefly buzzing around, and President Obama slaps him with an open hand and kills him dead. You can see the video HERE

Here's the crazy part- now, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is raising a stink because President Obama killed the fly and didn't treat it ethically. There recommendation is that he should have captured the fly, and then released it into the wild.

This is unbelievable.

Here's what's unbelievable- That this news story lasted longer than about 30 seconds. Yes, its pretty funny that the leader of the free world was able to swat a fly with his hands with ninja like accuracy, putting even Mr. Myagi to shame. But for PETA to now come forward with this complaint is nothing more than political correctness gone amok.

What's next, the President names a "Critter Czar" to the White House to stay abreast of the status of all things that fly and crawl in the white house?

Personally, I thought it was impressive what he did. It was superfly. But to have PETA make it an issue, well, it just chaps my hide.

This is the most unnerving part- there are actually people who care that a fly got killed? Flies get killed all the time. I fed a spider in my garage a fly the other day and watched him chew on that thing. It was awesome!

Here's the big question- do we coexist with Animals, or do we have dominion over them. As a Christian, I believe as the Bible says, in Gen 1:26 (KJV)And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth

I have dominion over every creeping thing, and if I, or President Obama choose to use that dominion to kill it with laser like accuracy, so be it.

Use your dominion today! Swat a fly!

Blessings

  1. And all this time I thought PETA stood for "People Eating Tasty Animals"

  2. Yeah, it's pretty hilarious that PETA would actually make an issue of swatting a fly. Crazy.

On the other hand, it's important to realize the Biblical meaning of "dominion". It doesn't just mean do whatever we want. It means to take care of God's creation as responsible stewards.

  5. Peter you make a good point. Though I think the fly swatting issue is ridiculous, I also think the way chickens and cattle are treated before slaughter is inexcusable and wrong. About two years ago I made the decision to only buy free-range chickens and eggs layed by free-range chickens. I invite others to do the same. It's more expensive but I do feel good about it. However there is no solution regarding cattle except to not eat beef - which I have not been able to do - yet.

  6. we care more about the murder of a fly than we do about the murder of our unborn. We spend more time on the events of Dr. Tillers death than we do on the fact a US Soldier was just killed by a terrorist on US soil. We want to call that "murder" and not an act of terriorism.

  7. It was a matter of national security. He may have even saved the world by killing that fly.

  8. Wow, they would have a great time at our house! Steve is the killer, but you should see him catch flies and other bugs! He is fast! Except for spiders! No catching spiders for him, PETA would be all over him in that arena! I am the "PETA" person, not on purpose! I just catch and release when the option is there, but if it isn't, kill the bugs! Seriously, why is so much time wasted on something like this? It isn't like flies are an endangered species or that there is really a chance they ever will be.

  9. Flies carry germs on themselves you don't want them flying around you. Naturaully you want to kill them.

  10. Let one of these scorpions or centipeeds, red devils or wasps. bite the president of PETA, and we'll see what the media has to say about that one. "PETA" stands for "peons entertainment that accu-wastes."

  11. Wow what an interesting repartee. This "issue", since PETA has made it one, is way out in left field. If my cats can hunt down kill and eat one why can't our president kill one!!!

  12. They say nothing about the frogs that they protect eating flies..... why is that? Because it's part of the food chain.... so is eating beef and chickens, which they have a problem with.... It's a double standard. Prosecute that frog and I'll quit eating beef.... LOL

  13. Speaking from the vegetarian standpoint I do agree with Peter..however come on a fly? Seriously! PETA has too much time on its hands. First the fish and now the fly? Don't they have truly mistreated animals to defend. At least the fly's death was quick...what is the life span of a fly again anyway? Who knows in fly land it could have been an honorable death to be killed by the President instead of a fly swatter....lol
