Today Is The National Day of Prayer

Today is the National Day of Prayer. Our first day of prayer together as a nation was in 1775, when the founding fathers of this nation came together to pray to receive direction in forming a new country. From that day on, we have had days of prayer as a nation, but the formal holiday was established in 1952.

Why do we have a national day of prayer? So that we as a nation can set aside a day that we recognize that we need the influence of the Almighty in our lives for us to be able to succeed as a nation. To ask God for direction, and to thank him for his blessings.

I want to ask you a bold statement today- would you pray for our nation today? I know, you may not be a prayer type of person, but the more people we have praying today the better.

Take just a moment to acknowledge that we need God to bless our nation and continue to direct the affairs of our government.

Now more than ever we need prayer.

Be blessed today

ps. There are National Day of Prayer events in every city all over America today. Uusally at City Hall at 1200pm. There is one today in Auburn if you can attend.
